Jacob S. Louchheim. New York City-based professional actor, singer, and performer.
Originally from the saguaro studded Sonoran desert of Tucson Arizona. Jacob’s passion for singing brought him to the opera conservatory at SUNY Purchase New York. While in school he performed in The Magic Flute, Carmen, and Les Mammels de Tiresias. He also worked on a number of plays including, Vendetta Chrome directed by Zach Morris, and Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice directed by Rachael Dickstein. He graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama Studies and a Minor in Vocal Operatic Performance.
Jacob is also a proud graduate of the SITI Company conservatory training program. His studies there culminated in a production of Chuck Mee’s new play Adam and Evie.
Since graduating from SITI, Jacob has worked extensively in the world of New York theater. He was able to put his Suzuki and Viewpoint training from SITI to good use in Shellscrape Theater’s production of Insomnia, and The Viewpoint Collective’s My Life Among the Serial Killers. He was nominated for a Broadway World award for best actor for his performance as Tateh in Luis Salgado’s Ragtime. In October 2018, he made his off-Broadway debut in Sleepy Hollow at the Player’s Theater, and performed in the Mile Long Opera.
Jacob is honored to return to the role of Tateh in Serenbe Playhouse’s production of Ragtime, which runs from May 10-June 9th in Serenbe, Georgia.
